About

The Digital Finance Institute describes itself as a centre for financial technology innovation and artificial intelligence, providing thought leadership on digital finance, AI, regulation and financial inclusion. Its research includes a national fintech report for Canada, the Bridging the Gender Gap study on women in financial technology produced with SWIFT, and annual Top 50 FinTech Companies and Top 50 Women in FinTech reports. The Institute founded the Canadian FinTech and AI Awards in 2015 and has created events including the FinTech Cup with Payments Canada, FinTech Week Canada, the AI World Forum and FinTech Nigeria. It also provides consulting on technology and finance and has testified before the Canadian Senate on finance, regulation and technology. Its inclusion work includes FemTech Leaders, which supports and profiles women in finance, and refugee payment initiatives with SWIFT and other partners.
