About
The Australian Investment Council is the national peak body for private capital in Australia, representing private equity, venture capital and private credit firms, institutional investors including profit-for-member superannuation funds, and the professional services firms that work with them. Founded in 1992 and the successor to AVCAL, it has more than 210 member organisations. It advocates to policymakers on behalf of members, sets industry standards through its Constitution and Code of Conduct, and gives members input through working groups, submissions and roundtables. Members have access to networking events, an annual conference, professional development courses such as Principles of Venture Capital, and proprietary data and research including its Private Capital Snapshot. Membership categories cover General Partners, Limited Partners, corporates and government bodies.
