About
The Korea Fintech Industry Association (KORFIN) is a Seoul-based industry association representing South Korea's fintech companies. Its promoters' meeting was held in October 2015 with 83 companies taking part, and it was formally authorised as an incorporated association under the Financial Services Commission in August 2016. Its main areas of work are policy and regulatory reform for digital finance and digital assets, shared relay infrastructure, education and overseas expansion. Working with the Bank of Korea, it runs shared infrastructure for electronic financial businesses and small-sum overseas remittance providers, relaying foreign exchange reports through FEIS and remittance-limit checks through ORIS. Its timeline records passing 500 member companies in 2024 and, between 2023 and 2025, launching councils on topics including AML, digital-asset infrastructure, stablecoins, information security and fintech AI.
