Thunes is a Singapore-headquartered cross-border payments company that operates a proprietary network of direct connections to local payment providers, which it calls the Direct Global Network. Through API or Swift connections, members can send payments to mobile wallets, bank accounts, cards and stablecoin wallets, and accept payments through local methods such as mobile wallets, bank payments, digital vouchers and buy now, pay later. It serves banks and neobanks, money transfer operators, e-commerce and gig economy platforms, digital asset companies and payroll providers. The company states that it is licensed in 50 markets, with offices including London, Paris, Dubai, Nairobi, Shanghai, Hong Kong and San Francisco. Co-founder Peter De Caluwe serves as Deputy Chairman and CEO.
