Silverlake Axis is a provider of core banking software and related technology for banks and other financial institutions. Goh Peng Ooi founded it in Malaysia in 1989, its operations spanned Southeast Asia by 1999, and it has since entered markets including the Middle East, China, South Asia, Europe and Central America. Its core system, Silverlake Integrated Banking System II (SIBS II), supports conventional, Islamic and microfinance banking models, and it also offers MÖBIUS II, a cloud-native core banking platform. Its range also covers cards, channels, payments, and trade finance and treasury, and in 2013 it acquired Merimen Group, an insurance claims and policy processing platform. It reports more than 370 customers in 80 countries and runs development hubs in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
