Platanus

About

Platanus is a startup accelerator and early-stage investor backing technical founders in Latin America and building a community of Spanish-speaking founders. Companies accepted into its three-month programme receive USD 200,000 for 7% of the company on a post-money SAFE, with fortnightly mentoring sessions, office hours and a closing Demo Day in front of investors. The first programme ran in 2020, and Platanus invests from the idea stage onwards in any industry, provided at least one founder is technical and can build the product. It has offices in Santiago and Mexico City, and its portfolio includes fintechs such as Fintoc, Toku, Grupalia and Shinkansen.
