500 Global is a venture capital firm and accelerator operator that invests in early-stage technology founders. It has backed founders since 2010, when it was called 500 Startups. Its founder programmes include the 500 Fellowship, its flagship programme in San Francisco, where accepted companies can receive up to $50K at the start with the potential for up to $1M more. In the Middle East and North Africa, 500 Global made its first investment in 2012 (Jeeran) and began deploying its first dedicated regional fund in 2017, and it says it has since launched five dedicated MENA funds and run more than 25 founder cohorts across four countries. Alongside investing, it runs venture education programmes for investors, such as VC Unlocked.
