About

NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) is the international arm of the National Payments Corporation of India and works to take India's UPI and RuPay payment systems to markets outside India. With RBI approval, the NPCI board incorporated it on 3 April 2020 as a wholly owned subsidiary of NPCI. It is building acceptance networks for UPI and RuPay abroad for Indian travellers and non-resident Indians, and its solutions also include foreign inward and outward remittance and an instant payments solution. It offers technological assistance, licensing and consulting to countries that want to build their own real-time payment systems or domestic card schemes. Its site features UPI acceptance in France through Lyra, along with coverage of a UPI link with Nepal for cross-border remittances, UPI payments in Cambodia via the KHQR network and a tie-up with PayNet for UPI-DuitNow QR payments.
