National ITMX

About

National ITMX is the company that develops and operates Thailand's national payment infrastructure, including PromptPay. It was set up through the collaboration of Thai commercial banks in line with Payment System Committee policy, and in July 2005 it changed its name from ATM Pool Company Limited. PromptPay lets people send and receive money using a mobile phone or identity number, and was launched in January 2017 by the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Thailand and the Thai Bankers' Association. The company reports more than 82 million PromptPay registrations as of December 2025. Its other services include local switching, bulk payments, the Imaged Cheque Clearing System, PromptBiz for digital trade and supply-chain finance, a Central Fraud Registry, and cross-border services such as the PromptPay-PayNow link with Singapore, cross-border QR payments and remittances, and the Asian Payment Network hub.
