About

Nacha is the organisation that governs the ACH Network, the US payment system used for Direct Deposits and Direct Payments that can reach all US bank and credit union accounts. It develops and administers the Nacha Operating Rules, which define the roles and responsibilities of ACH participants, and reports that 35.2 billion ACH payments worth $93 trillion were made in 2025. Beyond rule-making, Nacha provides risk management services, payments advisory, the Phixius network for exchanging payment-related information and the Payments Innovation Alliance membership community. It also runs education and accreditation programmes such as the Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) and Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP), the annual Smarter Faster Payments conference and the Payments Institute.
