About
The Bank Policy Institute (BPI) is a nonpartisan public policy, research and advocacy group for the banking industry, whose members include universal banks, regional banks and major foreign banks doing business in the United States. Its staff of economists, researchers, financial analysts and attorneys produce research papers, white papers, comment letters, blog posts and congressional testimony for regulators, members of Congress, academics and the media. Topics it covers include bank capital and liquidity, stress testing, supervision and enforcement, anti-money laundering, consumer affairs, cybersecurity, digital assets and Section 1033. Its technology policy division, BITS (Business-Innovation-Technology-Security), brings together members, regulators, government agencies and technology firms on fraud reduction, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure resilience and risk management. Greg Baer is President and CEO, and the board is chaired by Charles W. Scharf of Wells Fargo.
