The Canadian Web3 Council is a non-profit trade association that advocates for public policy to support the growth of blockchain, crypto assets and digital payments in Canada. Founded in 2022, it works with policymakers, regulators and businesses, and reports taking part in consultations and working groups with the CSA and CIRO. Its published work includes government consultation submissions, regulatory letters and research, including a pre-budget submission on a Canadian stablecoin framework. Membership is open to organisations that operate in Canada, build Web3 technology, are compliant and support policy and regulation for the sector. Its members include financial services firms, fintechs, digital asset custodians, blockchain projects and investment firms.
