Fintechs Canada

About

Fintechs Canada is a not-for-profit association that represents financial technology companies in Canada and advocates for policies that open markets to them. It was established in 2019 to represent the paytech community and broadened its mandate in 2022 to cover all fintechs, with members ranging from enabling-technology providers to firms in lending, payments and crypto assets. Its stated policy objectives include open banking, fair access to payment systems, fintech-friendly banking partners and clarity on the oversight of cryptocurrency and stablecoins. The association works through independent research, advocacy, education and convening fintechs with regulators and policymakers, and publishes statements and submissions on issues such as the Real-Time Rail and banking fees. Its board includes executives from Sagard, Paramount Commerce, Wealthsimple, Flinks, Float and Neo Financial.
