About
The Fintech Association of Japan is a Tokyo-based industry association for the country's fintech sector, established in September 2015. It grew out of the Fintech Meetup events held since October 2014 and was founded by 20 startups together with general corporations, individuals and organisations. Its main activities include policy recommendations on legal and regulatory reform, subcommittee meetings, Fintech Japan, events, business matching between members and sharing industry information. Membership is split into Startup Members, who hold voting rights at the General Assembly, and Enterprise Members. Benefits listed by the association include large-scale meetups with authorities including the Financial Services Agency and the Bank of Japan, and cross-border matching with its overseas MoU partner organisations.
