About
The Electronic Payments Coalition (EPC) is an advocacy group representing credit unions, community banks, payment card networks and other financial institutions in the US electronic payments system. Its policy work centres on card payments legislation, and it argues against the Credit Card Competition Act, which it refers to as the Durbin-Marshall Credit Card Mandates and describes as a government routing mandate. The coalition publishes fact sheets, research, an Interchange 101 explainer and an FAQ on interchange, swipe fees and card routing. Its research and resources cover topics including consumers, small businesses, small financial institutions, credit card rewards, and fraud and security. In October 2026 it launched a campaign called Fool Me Once.
