Astra is a payments infrastructure company offering a single API for moving money across multiple payment rails, which it calls the Payments Cloud. The platform supports instant debit card payouts over Visa Direct and Mastercard Move, instant account funding and accelerated bank transfers, with connectivity to ACH, RTP and FedNow. KYC, AML, fraud screening, ledgering, reconciliation, disputes and treasury functions are built into the platform, which it describes as sponsor-bank agnostic. Customers named on its site include Till, TipHaus and DoorDash, which launched instant deposits for DoorDash Crimson with Astra. In December 2021 its founding team partnered with Cross River Bank to develop money movement APIs, and its $10 million Series A in 2022 was led by FPV Ventures.
