About

Alchemist is a San Francisco-based early-stage venture firm, founded by Ravi Belani in 2012 as Alchemist Accelerator, that backs deeply technical teams building for the enterprise. It invests at pre-seed and seed, with investments from $60,000 to $1 million, and is sector agnostic, with a portfolio spanning AI, deep tech, data, developer tools, security and financial services among other areas. Each portfolio company is matched with an equity-aligned Partner and gets access to the Vault mentor network and the firm's enterprise commercialisation method. Alchemist reports more than 750 investments since 2012, with founders from more than 60 countries. Beyond San Francisco it runs programmes in Chicago with the Polsky Center at the University of Chicago, in Doha with QRDI Council, and in Tokyo; Ian Bergman is chief executive and Ravi Belani is chairman.
