About
AEFI (Asociación Española de FinTech e InsurTech) is the Spanish association representing fintech and insurtech startups and companies. Its stated aim is to create a favourable environment for the sector in Spain, acting as an interlocutor with Spanish and European regulators, supervisors and legislators. Members are organised into 12 verticals, such as digital banks, lending, regtech, crypto and blockchain, and insurtech, and the association has published white papers on topics including insurtech, wealthtech, paytech and online lending. AEFI took part in the design of Spain's financial sandbox from 2017, created the FinTech Women Network and supported the launch of the Alianza FinTech Iberoamérica. It is chaired by Arturo González Mac Dowell, who was re-elected for a 2026 to 2030 term.
