Adyen is a global payments platform whose single, in-house system gives businesses end-to-end payment capabilities, data and financial products. It was founded in Amsterdam in 2006 and obtained a European acquiring licence in 2012. It later added acquiring licences in markets including Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the United Arab Emirates, plus a US branch licence in 2021. Its products cover unified online and in-person payments, risk management, authentication and issuing; Adyen for Platforms launched in 2016 and Adyen Issuing in 2019. The company reports 28 offices around the world and more than 4,000 employees.
