The51 is a financial platform and venture firm that invests in women-led ventures. It began in 2019 when 70 women gathered around a Calgary kitchen table, and it has since grown into a venture firm and national financial ecosystem. The51 Funds invest from pre-seed to Series A, and its newest fund, Fund III, targets technology-enabled ventures in health, wealth and work. Alongside its venture funds, it offers alternative investments, a membership community, events such as the XX Summit, and learning programmes through its nonprofit partner Movement51. Portfolio companies featured on its site include Blume Skincare, MyFo and NLPatent.
