Bloomberg Beta is an early-stage venture firm backed by Bloomberg L.P., investing in companies focused broadly on the future of work. It is investing from its fifth $75M seed fund, the same size and focus as its first four, alongside a $75M opportunity fund for later-stage investments in companies it has already backed, for $450M in total under management. The firm states that it chooses investments independently and for financial return, without preference for companies that have or want a relationship with Bloomberg. Its web presence is hosted on GitHub, where it publishes its open-source operating manual covering check sizes, diligence questions and investment criteria, along with a list of its portfolio founders. The team works from offices in San Francisco and New York.
