Patamar Capital is an impact investment firm that backs businesses serving underserved communities in emerging markets, and it started as a venture capital firm aiming to drive financial inclusion in those markets. Its origins trace back to Unitus Inc., founded by a group of finance and technology entrepreneurs led by venture capitalist Geoff Woolley, and its early work included microfinance investing in India. The Patamar platform spans venture capital and equity funds, debt and private credit funds and special purpose vehicles, including the Livelihood Impact Fund, the Investing in Women Fund and the Proof of Concept Fund. Alongside financial services, it invests in affordable housing, climate action, healthcare, education, agriculture and SME digitisation, and it lists a presence in the United States, India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Singapore and Indonesia. Financial services companies in its portfolio include Ayoconnect, PortX, Taptap Send and Saladin.
