Homebrew is a seed-stage investment firm run by Satya Patel and Hunter Walk that backs mission-driven founders. About 90% of its investing is pre-seed and seed rounds of $100k to $500k; the rest is larger or later investments of up to $25 million or more, and it sets no ownership targets. It focuses on startups located in North or South America that first target markets there. Rather than raising a larger traditional fund, the firm now invests through Homebrew IV(ever), an evergreen vehicle made up, for now, only of the partners' own capital. Its portfolio includes Chime, Plaid and AngelList, alongside Gusto, Graphite and Shield AI.
