About
GIC is Singapore's sovereign wealth fund and manages most of the Government's financial assets, as one of three entities that manage the country's reserves alongside the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Temasek. It was established in 1981, and the Ministry of Finance mandates it to manage Singapore's foreign reserves with the aim of achieving good long-term real returns. GIC says it has invested in technology for more than 40 years, at venture, growth and IPO stages, investing directly, alongside co-investors and through funds. Within Private Equity, its Technology Investment Group handles most of its early-stage investments, and it has a local presence in Silicon Valley, New York and Mumbai. It also runs Bridge Forum, a platform that connects early-stage technology companies with its global partners.
