About
FMO is the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank, investing in private-sector businesses in more than 85 countries. It is a public-private development bank supervised by the Dutch Central Bank (DNB). For financial institutions it offers long-term loans, private equity, mezzanine and tailor-made products, with loan maturities typically of 5 to 7 years in US dollars, euros or local currency where possible. Its FMO Ventures Program makes early-stage, tech-enabled investments with a focus on fintech, cleantech and agritech, predominantly in Africa, the European neighbourhood and parts of Asia. The programme launched in 2020 as a €200 million facility, and a second US$200 million facility for early-stage companies in Africa and South-East Asia followed in August 2024.
