About
DvH Ventures (Dieter von Holtzbrinck Ventures) is an early-stage venture capital firm based in Cologne that has invested in European startups since 2014. It was set up with backing from publisher Dieter von Holtzbrinck and currently runs two early-stage funds: Fund III, a Digital Tech Fund investing mainly in deep tech and education since 2017, and Fund IV, a Digital Health Fund launched in 2020 with a first closing of €70 million. The firm invests between €500,000 and €2 million in early-stage rounds, often as lead investor, and also provides capital for follow-on rounds. Its media-for-equity programme gives portfolio companies access to publishing brands including Handelsblatt, WirtschaftsWoche and DIE ZEIT. An earlier fund dedicated to fintech and insurtech, which is now disinvesting, backed companies including LIQID, Hypatos and Nect.
