About

Digital Africa is a subsidiary of Proparco (AFD Group) that invests directly in early-stage African tech start-ups. It began in 2018 as an association created at the initiative of the President of France to support African entrepreneurship. Through its Fuzé programme it makes pre-seed investments of €20K to €100K in around 30 African start-ups a year and supports founders with tools, experts and introductions. The DA Seed Fund, at €30M, makes average first tickets of €300K and invests less than €2M per start-up. It also runs the Talent 4 Startups training programme and the Africa Next initiative, and fintech is the largest sector in its portfolio.
