About
CIBC Innovation Banking is the division of CIBC that provides funding and banking services to innovation companies and their investors across North America and Europe. It traces its origins to Wellington Financial, founded in 2000, which CIBC acquired in January 2018 to launch the business. It reports $12 billion deployed and more than 800 venture and private equity-backed businesses supported, and operates from 14 global locations. In October 2021 it launched the $450 million CIBC Innovation Catalyst fund, which focuses on venture capital and growth equity funds. Deals listed on its site include €10 million in growth financing for embedded insurance platform Qover and a $50 million growth capital facility for AlayaCare.
