About

BGF is an investor that provides patient, minority equity capital to growing businesses across the UK and Ireland, and was set up in 2011 to address the SME funding gap. Its Growth Stage team makes initial investments of £3m to £30m in privately owned companies, typically those with profits of £1m or more (or £3m+ ARR for technology companies), and it never takes a controlling stake. A separate Early Stage team provides late seed to Series B funding for deep tech and life sciences startups. BGF is backed in the UK by Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, NatWest and Standard Chartered, and reports more than £5bn deployed across over 650 businesses. Its investment manager, BGF Investment Management Limited, is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
