WebID is a Berlin-based provider of digital identity verification and electronic signature services for regulated businesses. The company was founded in 2012, with Frank S. Jorga among its co-founders and his brother Sven Jorga as CTO, and its video identification process received official approval in 2014. Its product range includes VideoID, AutoID, eID and ePassID checks, AccountID identification via bank login, CorporateID for company and beneficial-owner checks, and SignID for qualified electronic signatures. WebID serves banking and insurance, fintech, crypto and other sectors, with staff in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Spain and further locations in the US and India. It has been backed by the UK private equity firm AnaCap since 2021.
