Trowers & Hamlins is an international law firm with offices across the UK, the Middle East and Asia, and an Islamic finance practice within its banking and finance group. Its origins date to 1777 and the current firm was formed in 1987; its Dubai office opened in 1991, alongside offices in Oman, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Malaysia, Singapore and Saudi Arabia. The Islamic finance team advises on Shariah-compliant transactions in banking, project finance and capital markets, including sukuk issuances and conversions to Islamic banking models. Clients include issuers, financiers, government entities, family offices, private equity firms and Islamic financial institutions, and the firm has advised regulators including the Central Bank of Oman. The firm has more than 170 partners and over 1,200 people.
