Startmate is a startup accelerator and early-stage investor that backs founders in Australia and New Zealand. Its Accelerator programme runs for 14 weeks in a remote-first format, with three weeks in person and its Melbourne and Sydney offices open for co-working, and invests A$120k per company at a A$1.5m post-money valuation. The programme is industry agnostic and every cohort has included at least one idea-stage company; solo founders can apply, provided at least one founder works on the company full time. Alongside the Accelerator, Startmate runs First Believers for new and experienced angel investors, programmes for startup operators and a Student Founder Bootcamp. It states it has invested more than $60M across over 350 companies since 2010, and founders featured on its site include those behind Bugcrowd, Morse Micro and Mindset Health.
