The company was founded in 2008 as Payfone and rebranded to Prove in 2020, the same year it acquired the mobile authentication lines of business of Early Warning Services and the mobile behavioural biometrics company UnifyID. Its products include Prove Pre-Fill for faster onboarding, Prove Verified User for identity verification, Prove Unified Authentication for recognising returning users and Prove Know Your Payee for verifying payment recipients, alongside the Prove Identity Platform. It serves sectors including banking, fintech and lending, insurance, cryptocurrency, online gaming, healthcare, marketplaces and merchants. Its website states that it has more than 400 employees and holds over 200 patents across authentication and identity.
