Propel

About

Propel is an Atlantic Canadian organisation that runs an online accelerator for technology startups. It was founded as Propel ICT in 2003 in Saint John, New Brunswick, by business leaders Gerry Pond, Curtis Howe and Jeff White, expanded across Atlantic Canada in 2011 and launched a virtual accelerator in 2018. Founders are matched with a startup coach for regular virtual meetings and work through online learning that covers customer discovery, revenue models and pitching. Applications are accepted on a continual basis from companies based in Atlantic Canada, and Propel takes no equity and charges nothing to participate, with funding from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and the provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Companies it names as having gone through its accelerator include Hey Orca!, AnalyzeRe, LeadSift and TripNinja.
