Palenca is an income and employment data company building what it describes as an income bureau for Latin America. Through its Widget, Console and API, lenders and fintechs can let users connect their income and employment sources to verify earnings for formal workers, public servants, and delivery and ride-hailing drivers on platforms such as Uber, Rappi and Didi. Founded in January 2021, the company took part in Y Combinator that year and launched in Colombia in December 2021, Mexico in March 2022 and Brazil in July 2022. Its site names Y Combinator, Foundation Capital and Gilgamesh Ventures among its investors and states a presence in seven Latin American countries.
