Mastercard is a global payments network that connects individuals and organisations in more than 210 countries and territories and, together with its customers, delivers a range of payment choices. Alongside core payments it works on commercial and new payment flows, and provides value-added services covering fraud and risk management, cybersecurity and the digital payments experience. Its customers include banks and credit unions, small and medium-sized businesses, large enterprises and governments. For fintechs, it runs Start Path, a startup engagement programme that has supported fintechs since 2014, and publishes developer resources through Mastercard Developers.
