About
FinTech Wales is an independent membership association for the fintech and financial services industry in Wales. It was launched in April 2019 by Richard Theo, HM Treasury's FinTech Envoy for Wales, and its work is organised around four pillars: skills and talent, funding and investment, ecosystem and community, and promotion and amplification. It runs the Foundry, a no-equity accelerator programme launched in 2021 that supports early-stage fintechs, and held the inaugural Wales Fintech Festival in Swansea in June 2026. Its site states that its community includes over 100 organisations across sectors including fintech, cyber, data and AI, banking, insurance, government and education, and its head office is in Cardiff.
