The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) is a Washington, DC-based trade association for the payments technology industry. It represents more than 500 member companies, from startups to established financial institutions, whose member-led committees and working groups address business, technology, safety and security issues in payments. ETA advocates for the industry before Congress and federal agencies, in all 50 states and in Canada, and runs in-person, virtual and on-demand events. It offers education and credentials including the ETA Certified Payments Professional and ETA Certified Payments Compliance Professional. It has also published a study on the economic impact of digital payments across the US and in each of the 50 states.
