Column is a nationally chartered bank, Column N.A., Member FDIC, built for developers and companies creating and funding financial products. Its products cover ACH, wires, real-time payments, book transfers, checks, bank accounts, loan origination and loan purchase, debt financing, card programmes and issuing, stablecoins and multicurrency global banking. Column began building in 2019 and launched in 2022, developing its systems without third-party middleware or legacy software. The company states that it is founder- and employee-owned and profitable. It is led by CEO William Hockey, who previously co-founded Plaid.
