It began as an application to trace the source of email spam and grew into a service that protects websites from attacks while improving their performance. Its services include SASE and zero trust access, application security such as DDoS protection, web application firewall, API security and bot management, CDN and DNS, and a developer platform covering Workers, storage and Workers AI for running machine learning models. The company states that it serves data from 335 cities in more than 125 countries and has 18 offices, including London, Lisbon, Munich and Brussels. Cloudflare listed on the New York Stock Exchange on 13 September 2019 under the ticker NET.
