BANCOMAT S.p.A. operates Italy's domestic card payment and cash withdrawal circuits, including PagoBANCOMAT and the BANCOMAT Pay mobile payment service. Its history dates to 1983, when an automated cash withdrawal circuit was launched in Italy, and the Consorzio BANCOMAT, founded in 2008, became a joint-stock company in 2017. Membership of its circuits is open to banks, financial intermediaries and payment institutions, and the company says it works with more than 400 partners. BANCOMAT cards can be added to Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Wallet and Huawei Pay, and the BANCOMAT app supports money transfers between contacts and pagoPA payments. The company is headquartered in Rome with offices in Milan, is led by CEO and General Manager Fabrizio Burlando, and has completed the acquisition of Italian open banking fintech Flowpay.
