Airwallex is a global payments and financial platform offering business accounts, cross-border transfers, card issuing and embedded finance infrastructure. The company traces its start to 2015, when CEO Jack Zhang and fellow entrepreneurs ran into the cost and delays of cross-border payments while sourcing supplies for a coffee shop in Melbourne. Its products include multi-currency accounts, FX and transfers, corporate cards, expense management, bill pay, online and in-person payment acceptance, billing, and platform APIs for connected accounts, payouts, issuing and banking as a service. Airwallex says it supports more than 200 countries and offers local transfers in more than 120. In the UK, Airwallex (UK) Limited is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority as an Electronic Money Institution.
