About
SC Ventures is Standard Chartered's innovation, venture-building and investment unit, building and investing in ventures in and beyond banking. Venture building is its core focus, under themes including digital banking and lifestyle, trade and supply chains, and digital assets, and it reports 19 ventures launched. Its investment arm takes minority strategic stakes of $1 million to $10 million in revenue-generating companies, mostly from Series B to pre-IPO, under a global mandate. Its vehicles include the SC Ventures Innovation Fund (since April 2019), a Strategic Tech Investment Portfolio (since August 2016) and a digital asset joint venture with SBI Holdings (since April 2024). Led by CEO Alex Manson, it also runs the FinTech Bridge community and an AI Lab.
