About
Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) is the sovereign wealth fund of the State of Qatar. It was established in 2005 to protect and grow Qatar's financial assets and to help diversify the economy, and it invests across major global markets, asset classes and sectors. Its Financial Institutions team invests worldwide, from traditional banks and insurers to fintech companies, in both listed equities and private businesses. In February 2024 it launched a venture capital Fund of Funds programme to strengthen Qatar's venture capital ecosystem, investing USD 3 billion in international and regional VC funds with a priority on tech and healthcare and making targeted direct co-investments. Alongside its Doha headquarters, it lists advisory offices in the USA and Asia Pacific.
