About
Madica is a structured investment programme for pre-seed startups in Africa, spun out of Flourish Ventures. It invests up to US$200,000 in each participating company in exchange for equity, alongside a 12 to 18 month programme of mentorship, executive coaching, workshops and immersion trips, as well as targeted interactions with prospective investors for later-stage capital. The programme is aimed particularly at startups that receive a smaller share of venture funding, such as those led by women or local founders or operating outside established tech hubs, and applications are open all year. Its portfolio spans markets including Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Nigeria, Kenya and Cameroon, with companies such as the Cameroonian digital neobank Paysika, the Algerian HR platform Talenteo and the Egyptian recycling platform Bekia. The programme is led by Emmanuel Adegboye, Head of Madica.
