Kindred Ventures is a San Francisco venture firm that invests in technology startups at their earliest rounds, mainly pre-seed and seed. It often helps form and fund companies, working with entrepreneurs before they have set up their companies to put together first teams and sharpen ideas. The firm says it has backed more than 100 startups across AI, climate tech, consumer, crypto/Web3, fintech, health and wellness, mobility and logistics, and tools and infrastructure. Fintech and crypto companies named in its portfolio include Tala, Basis Theory, Corgi, Coinbase, dYdX and Messari. Steve Jang, founder and managing partner, leads the firm with managing partner Kanyi Maqubela.
