Global Brain is an independent venture capital firm headquartered in Tokyo that provides hands-on support to startups and promotes open innovation between startups and large corporations. Founded in January 1998, it has offices in Tokyo and Kyoto, San Francisco and New York, London, Berlin, Hong Kong, Bangalore, Seoul and Singapore. Alongside its flagship funds, which are backed by institutional investors and companies, it manages corporate venture capital funds for partners including KDDI, Mitsui Fudosan, Sony Financial Ventures and The Norinchukin Bank. Fintech holdings named on its site include Securitize, a platform for tokenising real-world assets that Global Brain has supported since 2018 and that began trading on the New York Stock Exchange in July 2026.
