Coral Capital is a Tokyo-based venture capital firm that describes itself as an ecosystem for founders as well as a source of capital. It manages more than ¥60 billion and invests from seed through Series D, with investments ranging from ¥50 million to ¥3 billion, across sectors from fintech and SaaS to semiconductors, aerospace and nuclear fusion. Portfolio companies have access to a talent database of more than 18,000 registered candidates, an annual startup career fair, a community of founders and employees, study sessions and a coworking space. The firm maintains J-KISS, an open-source template agreement for convertible equity seed investment that its predecessor, 500 Startups Japan, first published in 2016. Companies shown in its portfolio include SmartHR, IVRy, hacomono, Ramp and Anduril.
