About

AfricInvest is a pan-African private equity firm investing in growing small and mid-sized companies across the continent. Its history dates to 1994, and it raised funds for North Africa from 2000 and for Sub-Saharan Africa from 2004. It reports investing in more than 200 companies across 35 African countries, with sector expertise in financial services, agribusiness, consumer and retail, education and healthcare. Its vehicles have included FIVE (Financial Inclusion Vehicle), an evergreen fund, the Cathay AfricInvest Innovation Fund and the French African Fund, and it has affiliates in AfricInvest Private Credit and AfricInvest Europe. The firm co-founded the African Venture Capital Association (AVCA) and employs more than 100 professionals in eleven offices.
