The Basics
Prembly is a trust infrastructure provider helping businesses verify identities, manage compliance and risk, and build trust at scale across emerging markets.
We called it an accidental build, but once we recognised the demand, we doubled down.
Going Deeper
Who are you building your product/service for, and what painful problem are you taking away from their day?
Prembly builds for businesses operating across emerging and high-growth markets, particularly those that need to verify customers, manage compliance, and assess risk at scale. We take away the complexity of fragmented identity, compliance, and risk processes by providing a unified platform for identity verification, background checks, transaction monitoring, and fraud prevention.
This helps businesses safely acquire and onboard customers across borders, stay compliant with regulations, and focus on growth while Prembly manages trust, risk, and security in the background.
If a top-tier VC is reading this, what would you want them to understand about your company in 30 seconds?
Trust is still one of the biggest barriers businesses face across complex and emerging markets. Businesses need to know who they are dealing with, assess risk, prevent fraud, and stay compliant, yet these functions are often managed through disconnected tools.
Prembly is building the trust infrastructure that brings identity, compliance, and fraud prevention together. We help businesses safely acquire customers, expand across borders, and make confident decisions without adding layers of complexity. We are building the infrastructure that can become the backbone of digital trust across high-growth markets globally.
What are you doing differently from your competitors?
We are building differently by treating verification, compliance, and fraud prevention as connected parts of a broader trust infrastructure. Our customers do not have to move between multiple tools because Prembly brings these capabilities together, from identity verification to transaction monitoring and data-sharing intelligence through FraudLens, adapting them to complex markets.
We are also continuously finding better ways to make our trust infrastructure easier to use. Our recently launched Prembly MCP Server, for example, allows customers to access core capabilities such as identity verification, business onboarding, wallet actions, and fraud intelligence through simple prompts from their AI assistants.

How did you meet, and why have you partnered with each other on this business?
We met while working at a previous company and through mutual friends. We decided to partner because we have complementary skill sets that can help take the business to the next level.
What was the “this has to exist” moment that made you start the company?
We initially set out to build a biometric payments solution. But as we engaged with banks and financial institutions, we kept hearing the same concern: fraud was widespread, and existing verification solutions weren't adequately addressing the problem. It became clear that there was a significant gap in the digital infrastructure needed to support a growing economy.
So we built a solution for ourselves, introduced it to a few businesses, and they immediately bought it. That was our defining moment. We called it an accidental build, but once we recognised the demand, we doubled down.
How do you make money? Which part of your business model are you most excited about scaling?
We make money by serving and providing value to our customers, who then pay us for the value they realise from our products and services. Our revenue model is PAYG and subscription, and we've seen month-on-month revenue growth; our YTD growth is over 400% compared with last year.
The business model as a whole is exciting, from value creation to value delivery. As a focus point, we're particularly focused on scaling the fraud prevention layer of the business, particularly how Prembly can move from providing individual identity verification and compliance tools to becoming the infrastructure businesses rely on to prevent fraud throughout the customer lifecycle. We’re excited about scaling this model across more markets, industries, and use cases, particularly in financial services and other sectors where trust is critical. As a team, we want to continue to build on product-market fit, scale our distribution, build a network, and improve profitability.
Which proof points matter most right now?
The strongest proof points that matter most are a growing customer base and expanding market reach. We work with hundreds of businesses across roughly 35 countries, and our customer base has grown by at least 170% month-on-month since launching new products in Q4 last year. We're now processing around seven million unique verifications monthly, up from 4.7 million. Getting the right partnerships and enterprise user growth is critical at this stage of our business.
How does your product/service make the world a better place?
Trust is essential to a functioning digital economy, but it is difficult to build when businesses cannot confidently establish who they are dealing with. Prembly helps create safer digital interactions by enabling businesses to verify identities, assess risk, meet compliance requirements, and detect fraud.
This allows businesses to safely acquire and onboard customers across borders, interact with verified and trusted individuals, and stay compliant with global regulations, creating greater confidence for businesses and the people they serve.

What’s been your biggest unexpected challenge so far, and what did it force you to learn quickly?
Our biggest unexpected challenge has been keeping pace with how quickly the market is evolving. The rise of AI is lowering the cost and barriers to building technology, increasing competition, while regulatory and data protection requirements continue to evolve.
This has forced us to learn quickly, adapt continuously, and become more intentional about how we build. We’ve had to accelerate product development, double down on user feedback, ensure compliance with data protection laws across the jurisdictions we operate in, and leverage data to make better, faster decisions. Ultimately, it has taught us that staying competitive requires not just building great products, but also being agile enough to evolve with the market and anticipate what customers will need next.
What does success look like in 12 months? What about in 5 years?
In the next 12 months, success means continuing to grow our customer base, expand into new markets, and build on the momentum of our newer products. Over the next five years, we want Prembly to become the backbone of digital trust across high-growth markets globally, providing the infrastructure businesses need to verify identities, manage risk, and operate confidently across borders.
What type of partner or collaborator would most accelerate your journey right now?
We are looking for market entry, business development, and enterprise partners who can help accelerate our growth and expansion into new markets. We are also looking to grow our Sales and Engineering teams.
Finish this sentence: “We’ll know we’ve really made it when…”
We’ll know we’ve made it when Prembly becomes the leading trust infrastructure provider globally, recognised as an industry benchmark that businesses around the world use, recommend, and trust, and that researchers reference as an authority in the field. We want Prembly to be not just a successful company, but one of the defining names in the industry.
Beyond that, we want digital trust to become a foundation that enables businesses to expand across borders and participate confidently in the global economy.
